NEW FROM KS STATE LEGISLATIVE CHAIRMAN  31 DECEMBER 2011

From Jim Miller Kansas NARFE Federation State Legislative Chairman.

Subject: NARFE Kansas Legislature News Brief

The indefatigable Ron Richey is still working right up to the end of the year.....and helping set the stage for 2012.  The Governor has already " floated " his idea of a Flat Tax. That has been on the fringes for several sessions and the premise is....(1) simple (2 ) fair (3) equitable. Sounds good, depending on your income level. As Warren Buffet, the Oracle of Omaha described it simply...." It's a rich man's tax. The money THEY won't be paying will HAVE to be made up by the middle class and below in higher taxes." Better study the concept because Brownback will be pushing it big time.....and our income tax exemption will be somewhere in the mix.
